You can see colored jerseys just fine. The flight deck is not pitch black, there is illuminated lighting + moon + star light. If anything, red is easier to distinguish against dimmed red lighting compared to other colors, particularly white only. US navy:

dude, in the photos you posted you literally cannot distinguish any colors whatsoever, and the reason they are using red lighting is that it's the color spectrum which travels the least, meaning most difficult to see for the enemy at long distances and better preserves your night vision although that's probably less critical on a aircraft carrier.

sure, but I imagine reflective striping helps a lot with operator visibility. I'm just stating the well documented fact that red is one of the first colors to lose it's hue in low light appearing dark grey or black, this is just how the human eye works.
If the deck is illuminated by red light, red reflective marking is equally bright as white, so there is no issue of "red loosing hue", isn't it? Afterall, white is just black or gray without proper lighting, isn't it?

We closely monitor every new color scheme that is applied. If we notice changes, we know that the Chinese have obtained an investigation result and reacted accordingly.

In this way we get a picture of what investigations there must have been. And I'm sure the Chinese are investigating everything.

Interesting comparison of the PLANS-18 "Fujian" as posted yesterday by CCTV versus one of the first official artworks showing the future 003 carrier.

However I'm not sure how old the lower CG is.

There was a model from the shipyard that showed an aircraft carrier in a construction dock... circa 2014. That was actually the first indication of the layout of 003. In other words: the construction plans for the aircraft carrier must be very old.

Because aircraft carrier 003 has the same propulsion engine arrangement as aircraft carriers 001 & 002, but a new division of the watertight compartments in the hull (especially the side protection, we were able to clearly observe the differences between 002 and 003 during the construction phases), I assume 003 was planned from the day access to the Varyag was gained.
