May be the clear deck was photoshoped.
That's unlikely, we had too many images from too many different sources and mediums (plane, satellite) for that.
Having a cluttered deck now isn't necessarily surprising as part of the fitting out process. I wouldn't be surprised if much of the clutter is stuff that was inside the ship used for internal fitting out that is now being removed and placed temporarily on the flight deck as part of the final stages of fitting out
I believe you are looking at the EO for the guns. The phased array radar is on the left of the gun mounts (right in the picture since mirrored).
I know where the EO is. I wasn't talking about EO.
The flight deck has been surfaced.

The barge that was in front of the catapults has also been moved away, so there is now nothing in the way for catapult tests (if it hasn't happened already).
