This thread has been suspiciously quiet...wonder if OpSec ramped up ahead of a launch soon
This thread only conveys what we get from the Chinese side; it's not us which is quiet, it's them.
As for progress, at this stage there's not many more milestones that we can see. They've removed all the catapult covers a while ago, and they're pretty far along with fitting out the externals, meaning the internals are likely nearly done as well and are probably just putting on some finishing touches and getting ready for sea trials.
There isn't going to be much more news going forwards, aside from just the workup prior to the first sea trial. The ship is already launched, unless you are talking about a catapult test launch, which tbh isn't necessarily something we could be able to see if they do a dry launch without a test load. If they do have a test load then they'd have to reposition and at least reorientate the entire carrier.
.... all of which is to say, the fact that there's no news or pics is because there's probably nothing happening that is observable. That isn't a reflection of opsec, but rather a reflection of the natural phase of work that they are doing now.
