Anyone who is to develop a sense of safety in controlling flight operations on an aircraft carrier should be disturbed by such false foul lines. I cannot imagine such a thing in a professional simulator.

I agree to an extent but it also depends on how complex the simulator is meant to be, namely whether they simulate the ability to taxi, park and spot aircraft on the deck.

If it was only to familiarise the crew with takeoff and landing in isolation at this stage, I could somewhat understand why representative foul lines was disregarded or ignored.

We will know in time once the carrier undergoes the later stages of its sea trials where flight markings would be painted on.

Some more images of that simulator in collage form.

Carriers operators have lost 1000s of Carrier pilots in 1000s of crashes over the years and we are tailing about peace time here

Chinese on the other hand have done a remarkable job in keeping the numbers down

this is all because of the extremely high level of training on land and on simulators before they ever go near a Carrier

a very robust and well rehearsed program

Traditional aircraft carrier operators have gotten their number of crashes down a lot in recent 1-2 decades though.

Although, yes, it's still impressive how it seems like the PLA hasn't had any serious crash yet, and surely, it's due to good practice and rigourous training.

Is it a possibility that PLAN might be too careful in training, less intensity compared to the USN? as a contributing factor

Another possibility that the PLAN might be more discipline than USN
