Ah I thought you were talking about that Aircraft carrier type 003 Animation Video beforeThat looks like drone footage to me. Seriously I thought those things are not allowed over the shipyard.

Is it just me or does the forward lift interfere with the operation of the forward right hand side catapult? It looks like the lift could not be used if intensive cat work is being done from the right hand cat? Some grainy images. Date unknown.

And not even during Alpha Strikes as well, right? I remember reading somewhere (possibly some article in the Proceedings) that during both launching & recovering you need as much flight deck as possible in case things go wrong and since elevators are a part of flight deck when raised, they are only lowered/used in the 60-90 minutes duration between launching & recovering.Cyclical aircraft carrier deck operations do not involve simultaneous launch operations with use of elevators.
An explanation offered is that the design for catapult was changed from steam to EMAL later in the design phase, resulting in a catapult tract that was about 10 meters longer. Wouldn't have interfered with the original setup but they must have felt that the trade-off was worth it.Is it just me or does the forward lift interfere with the operation of the forward right hand side catapult? Have no fear, I'm pretty sure China would have done its homework, under any foreseeable senerios of operations. Is it just me or does the forward lift interfere with the operation of the forward right hand side catapult? When 004 eventually hits the water it will be interesting to see how many of the 'faults' and 'deficiencies' in the 003 design picked up by SDF members are actually resolvedHave no fear, I'm pretty sure China would have done its homework, under any foreseeable senerios of operations.
