Maybe they think first super carrier warrant some extra care.

They are not "holding up" anything really. It is pretty apparent that the engineering plan was to install the catapults before launch.
AFAIK, there are zero indications or rumors for something else going on.


There is no confirmation that the plan is or was to "install the catapults before launch".

There is a significant difference between "starting work on the catapult trenches as other work on the carrier is being conducted prior to launch" versus "aiming to finish the installation of the catapult prior to launch".

We do not currently have any evidence to suggest the latter is the case, and past practice of other navies and the construction of other carriers, means it would be strange for the installation of the catapults on 003 to be finished prior to launch.

Probably they will launch the ship, when the new modules for the next CV are ready to be moved into the dock.


Do we have any recent images from the construction site or any rumours concerning a second Type 003 vessel?
