The actual position of the lift is slightly to the left, inside the yellow box of below photo.
Did a rough attempt of side by side comparison using google earth:
eyeballing it, it looks like it falls within 1% error.
I think this is a pretty good and realistic picture of what these two will look like side by side in real life.

My own rough comparison…
Is there any analysis on the shorter length? Perhaps the EMAL catapult doesn't need that length on the 003 as compared to the US EMAL?

The lengths of catapult on both ships are quite similar, the difference is their starting positions.
