Do we know anything about the defensive armaments yet? I assume it is HQ-10s and CIWS guns?

I would assume typically set of HQ-10s and 1130s at each quarter of the ship. However, there is a slim chance of a surprise, like the 20 barrel CIWS.

Bulb is like that of large full ships, with the loci at the top. Its similar to the 075's. Not a bow sonar however.

There are only two bow sonars used with the PLAN. One, which is universally used with the 056, 054, and 052 families. Two, which is introduced with the 055. We have seen this one on the 101 Nanchang launch ceremony and sometimes from 055s getting the bow sonar fitted south of 003's dock. The loci on both would be at the bottom. Both would be too small for this bulb.

What the 003 might be using looks like Nabla 6 bulb here. All these types have been seen in large ships. There are also delta, oval and faired in bulbs. There is even a healthy refit business adding bulbs to older ships that don't have them.




Bow sonar doesn't look the same.



In addition the bow sonar bulb is shaped like that because the sonar array is shaped like short wide barrel.

With the PLAN using only one universal bow sonar for 056 to 052, and just introduced a brand new one for the 055, I would doubt the PLAN would introduce a new and even bigger bow sonar used in such limited number for the carriers.

Has anyone a clue how the weapons elevators are laid out on deck and how that would effect sortie generation rates? Are they in the same places as 002 and 003?

The only ones we know for sure so far are these:

There's might be others like next to the bow elevator or next to the island but we need clearer pictures.

Would a reasonable estimate of sortie generation be 75% of catapults of nimitz x 80% efficiency per catapult (assuming an initial level of inefficiency as not decades of experience like the US) = 60% sortie generation rate of a nimitz carrier?

IMO, that would be perfectly acceptable for 003 with room to improve in 004 and beyond.
