wouldn't be surprised given now the main modules are all together. Got to split the shifts up to stop people from working on top of each other. Its great to see how far these yards had come. 10 years ago the Korean, Thai, Indonesian and Philippine yards are all in competition with the Chinese. Now bar the Koreans, the others aren't fit to lace the Chinese yard's boots. All these mega modules and ships certainly have raised the labor pool and skills to another level! My last project in China last year yielded productivities like 16-20 DI per day per welder average, at repair rate of under 0.6% (We did 25mil man hours over 2 years), like 2-3 times Western rates at under 30% of the Western costs, and this isn't even elite like the CSSC or COOEC yards. These guys are the real reason for the China speed!
Another pic of 003, but at night. Apparently, 彩云香江 thinks the builders are working night shifts. I'm guessing he thinks that due to the lit-up square holes at the flight deck. It would make sense, since the workers are probably fitting out the interior with piping, wiring etc.
Considering the fast pace and stage of the construction, I have quite some faith that this carrier will and can be launched prior to first of October for China's National Holiday.
There is also an interesting topic in Chinese forums that they are discussing on which carrier will enter deployment first, INS Vikrant or Type 003?
If true, wow so fast! I hope it's all planned and not rushed. If true this is a change from Shandong which closed the gaping holes first before installing the island.
I'm sure... I hope it's all planned ...
"planned" and "rushed" are not mutually exclusive though. It could be planned to accelerate around this time.
I just realize the US CVN has its catapults pointing to parallel direction, but 003 seems having the 2 catapults in main deck pointing in injunction directions? Am i wrong? Why?The way in which the word "rushed" was used was in a context where the progress was made at the potential expense of other things.
In any case, let's wait and see.
If the island has been installed before the flight deck was sealed I would be a little bit surprised -- but it would also hardly be unprecedented.
Other carriers have also had their islands installed before flight deck completion, no dramas.

如果是真的,这是山东的一个变化,在安装岛之前先关闭了大洞。
