If you're going to post some pictures that is difficult to understand and post a link to a post in Chinese that people here cannot read, take the effort to post a summary please.

===

@Deino, I think the numbers on the picture are meant to represent estimates of length of each module, and the user is taking the total of those lengths to estimate the hull length, which the original poster puts at 284 meters without the bulbous bow section.

I personally have reservations as to the accuracy of the method but I appreciate the effort used.

The rest of the comment thread below the post is just people debating over specific measurements.

Come on... you know we are an English forum and most of our users (including myself) don't speak or read Chinese, as such a brief summary or translated info of the content is mandatory.

And IMO this is not too much of a demand...

In that Weibo link people are discussing and measuring the length between the stern and the bulbous bow. From the photos they got the estimate between 284m and 285m. And someone mentioned the same type of measurement for the Ford Class should be 293m. So at this stage 003 seems to be 8 to 9 metres shorter than the Ford Class. But the true overall length of a carrier are usually defined by its flight deck design, though. For now, at least we have a good indication of the length of 003.

Thanks for the explanation, but one point I'm missing; Are we sure that the whole vessel is already there from bow to stern?
I know the bulbous bow hasn't been seen but that's probably only a minor missing module, however the stern will surely be much bigger ... and as such we don't know how much in length it will add. Or am I wrong?
