In china they say 055式 destroyer, where 式 means Type. …
so the 式 means Type, which is the same word as in the following pic (001 = Liaoning) at the right, so Type 001 to Liaoning is confirmend (isn't it ?) 001 Typ.jpg

what are you attempting to accomplish? explaining the Chinese what their designation is while you don't know the Chinese language??

EDIT it's reminded me of a former member who tried to "inform" me about Russian acronyms, but couldn't read the Cyrillic

I don't explain, I am confused and ask - and in my information, also the pic that I posted says 001型。型 is an another way to say Type.
So again - isn't "type 001" confirmed by this pic???

Why is the term "type" important to you when every ship is its own type?
  • Liaoning is Type 001 and Chinese people call it just 001
  • The 2nd carrier is Type 002 and Chinese people call it just 002
  • The 3rd carrier is Type 003 and Chinese people call it just 003
