What do you mean by CV-18? In the picture are 16 Liaoning and the 2nd Chinese aircraft carrier.

Than it is a picture for the 2nd Chinese carrier thread or the 1st Chinese carrier thread, but not for this 3rd Chinese carrier thread.

Why is the term "type" important to you when every ship is its own type?

• Liaoning is Type 001 and Chinese people call it just 001
• The 2nd carrier is Type 002 and Chinese people call it just 002
• The 3rd carrier is Type 003 and Chinese people call it just 003

I am sorry but that makes no sense whatsoever, those numbers have to be in reference to a noun be that "carrier"; "type"; "project" or "popcorn machine". But a number by itself has no meaning and it shouldn't be used to refer to a physical object in the real world unless it clarifies what is it talking about..

"001", "002", and "003", all make sense, because the references are implicit to the Chinese carriers. Another example would be, "Double-O-Seven" means James Bond, without explictly referencing anything.

I only wonder, what would happen when "007" will arrive....
