I’m surprised some people here think that China will base their new EM CATOBAR carrier off a 35 year old Soviet design that was never even realized. Even if China did get some blueprints, is anyone really that clueless to think the Chinese will copy the Ulyanovsk? Seems like some Russian fanboys cannot accept China’s aircraft carrier advancements.
Can you substantiate this statement in any way, shape, or form? The JAN 1991 cancelled "Ulyanovsk" fits better to the 003-Thread, because the 3rd Chinese carrier will have the most elements based on this Sowjet design. And this will be the last Chinese carrier with roots in the former USSR. Thereafter things will change to much more US-Navy-style designs.
