It's only me or the island of CV-18 is pretty different from CV-16 on that picture?

If we got this from Institute 701, than it's a good sign

A pet peeve: that cylindrical mast looks awfully similar to Kuznetsov. I don't recall Liaoning's funnel is that tall.

"Inside the Institut 701, the CSIC group's main surface warship research office, there is a large poster that says a lot about the Chinese navy's ambition, but there is basically nothing new and avoid over-interpreting.
From Henri K blog"

correct me if I'm wrong, but:
there are two recognisable carriers and the third is ... a new amphibious assault ship?
any info about this project at all?

Then it should be in the Type 075 thread? Or am I wrong?

Did HK mean type 075 is not new??
075 thread already exists??
A model of it was exhibited. But till now there is no evidence to suggest that one is being constructed. So currently it still falls under the general amphibious ship tread.

It is important to mention that, according to media sources, the first Type 075 amphibious assault ship was laid down in March 2017. Specifics on the ship design and numbers are still unknown. The Chinese Admiralty wanted LHDs similar to the American WASP-class but opted for a smaller ship – based on the French Mistral-class – due to financial constraints. Recent information suggests that “something in between” has been chosen.

To be the skeptic here, we have heard before that the Type 75 was beginning construction in 2013, that was 5 years ago and there is still no sign of it.

Do you recall which big shrimp suggested it back then? Because I don't quite recall credible rumours of 075 beginning construction as far back as 2013.
