According to the above usni article:-

"According to the According to the Pentagon’s 2025 China military report, Washington expects Beijing to field nine carrier strike groups by 2035, a figure that effectively triples the PLAN’s existing force and puts China’s carrier force as a near peer contender to the U.S. Navy’s congressionally-mandated 11 vessel fleet, "

So they are expecting China to build another 5 aircraft carriers by 2035. This will require Shanghai and Dalian shipyards to construct CVs concurrently. If true Shanghai's JNCX shipyard will soon be busy with steel cuttings and module fabrications.

That’s not possible unless Xi gets possessed by @NorthKimBestKim and boosts defense to 15 percent of the GDP…

Why are we doing this again.

We've already litigated the CMPR claim multiple times.

The only correct response to repeated quotations of "9 carriers by 2035" is to tell people that there is no indication it is true and is a reflection of incorrect overestimate.

Don't even entertain it with humour.

Does anyone have any news from Fujian? There haven't been any photos or videos for almost a month.

Carriers by themselves(nuclear or no), especially if produced in series(important), aren't that expensive.

Their stretched production (when there are effectively no two similar ships) with concurrent endless RND is what makes them ridiculously expensive.

In principle, launching 3 pairs over 9 years is possible and within what we saw about previous times China activated macro 3d printing.
It isn't as much a technological/financial challenge IMHO as it is an obvious bet to "rule the world", invitation to prewar naval arms race in purest terms.

Fearmongering and hyping has always been the modus operandi of the US military establishment to get more funding from the government . We shouldn’t read too much into that. Theres no way China will be fueling 9 aircraft carriers less than 10 years from now . Silly to even think so
