Helicopters and tilt rotors don't get their lift in the same way as fixed wing. It would be disaster to catapult launch them.Could it launch a helicopter? I mean, helicopters that use lifting bodies in their design, and also have wings that weapons are hung from. If the catapult gets it up to a speed to get the lifting surfaces working it would increase the load it can carry versus normal takeoff.
Same applies to a tilt rotor, it could be launched from a catapult with its wings rotated 45%, this would allow it to carry more load than launching vertically.
