From what heard, the internal structure different, able to host 40 J-15 , higher than CV16.
Island structure is smaller as not to interfere and PAR higher , able to scan more.
So almost double the current capacity of the Liaoning? That right there is enough for me to dismiss this alleged report out of hand.

Well, the Liaoning is reported to be able to carry a total of 24 aircraft.

I would not be surprised for them to be able to push that number up to 30...maybe 32. But some of those would be carried on deck anyhow.

The US Navy CVNs can carry as many as 90+ aircraft...but all of them will not fit into the hangar.

Actually 24 J-15s + 12 helicopters. So basically he's claiming that CV-17 can carry 40 J-15s and 12+ helicopters. 16 additional fighters in a ship essentially the same size as the Liaoning simply strains the bounds of believability.

Plus the Granit launchers are forward of the weapons elevators which themselves are just forward of the hangar, and on the flight deck they are right where the bow launch positions are, so their movement is highly restricted. Even so, unless the ship has these elevators somewhere else the Granit launcher area cannot be used to extend the hangar space.
