Indeed. From previous pictures, they have been testing the jet blast deflectors.
The latter is yet to be commissioned -- therefore, until that point, there is no logical reason to compare these two on their current operational readiness.

Training pilot and crew China is woefully short of carrier qualified pilots. And adding 1 xtra carrier will increase the tempo. For training purpose 24 + 7 =31 is more than adequate
You can increase the production of J 15 in no time but training pilot take at least 4 or 5 years

The Chinese usually take 8 aircraft on a training trip. There are enough J-15 for two training aircraft carriers.

To play the devils advocate for Franklin, as times goes on the PLAN will need to have more flyable units in order to maintain the competence of the existing naval pilots along side withe the training of the new ones. Skills after all do degrade with time if not put into use, and a single unit can only withstand that much continuous use before it breaks down.
Exactly, relating this to the Ford, I've said many times the without the F-35C the Ford is just "the love boat"! the whole and sole purpose of an aircraft carrier is to operate aircraft, an Air Force larger than the Air Forces of many countries!

That's right, and I'm afraid the USN's frenetic pace is sometimes way to much?? there's a "happy place" for peacetime carrier operations!

From 003 on they will put many aircraft on their carriers. But not with the two training carriers.
