Need side profile shot of the island but from my eyes it does look a tiny bit different than CV16.

Couple big pieces left you can see to the left of the picture.. then her profile is pretty much complete.

Structurally the CV17 is now complete. Amazingly fast 2 years from keel laying to completion of the structure

I believe by now the condenser well and Steam turbine that sit on it should be installed
The boiler can be built on site since they are constructed from module. The steam drum and mud drum can be lowered thru the existing hole in the hull.
Piping, ducting, cabling can be done after she is launched

She can be readied for launch early next year the latest. Late 2018 commissioned
If they managed to do that. It will be record 5 years construction from first steel cutting to commissioning

I believe those 2 pieces you see on the left are for those purposes. To capped the hole once the big stuff heavy are put inside.

I bet Jeff is excited today! He's been waiting for this for many many weeks now

Hmm, it looks like pri-fly is still at the stern of the island. That 3rd level must be the flag bridge, and the 4th level is the new navigation bridge.

Captains bridge is one deck higher as Liaoning.
Flagg bridge is new.
