Looking good, with 4 squadrons of J-15s. The PLAN can have a very capable naval aviation capability in the region. A lot of diss have been heaped on the fact that both carriers are still using ski jump ramps which limits the J-15's payload and fuel range, but looking at it clearly it is not that much of a handicap as one might think.
Taking the often quoted figure that a J-15 can only take off with a 2 ton payload at max fuel, 2 tons translates into a surprisingly reasonable amount of air to air munitions. A J-15 could take off quite comfortably with 4-6 PL-12s (each weighing less then 200 kgs each) and 2-4 PL-10s ( less then 100kg each) with a full tank.
On a strictly one-on-one face off against contemporary fighters, a J-15 based on either one of these carrier is not as gimped as one might think. And that is the principle goal of the design of these carriers to begin with : To provide fleet air defense, not strike capability. And with the induction of the J-15D, these carriers can boast a EW capacity of a similar nature to Growler equipped carriers.

True for PL-12 and PL-10, but J-15 may have difficulty to carry a big AshM

Well I never understand the fascination and desire for the J-15 to carry huge AshMs in the first place. A carrier based fighter is prized for its capability to operate off a mobile airfield in the middle of the ocean first and foremost, not lugging huge payloads around. That's is the job for bombers and so on.
When the PLAN's first catapult carriers are commissioned, even medium sized existing AshMs like the Yj-83 or the export CM-400AKGs can give the J-15 a very potent anti ship capability.

J-15s should not have any problem carrying at least a pair of YJ-83s and taking off from the Liaoning to conduct an antiship strike mission.

YJ-83s should be over 700kg in total weight but that could be the ship launched version that has a booster. Air launched versions don't have the booster and could be lighter.

Yes, but such a load out would leave little room for self-defense munitions for the fighter. Nor would just 2 missile per fighter translate into a meaningful strike.
IMO, a J-15 must at least carry 3 YJ-83 along side self-defense missiles. Such a loadout is impossible on the current carriers.

Such a large aircraft doesn’t really do it justice in terms of ordnance lift from ski jump
Of course, but how often is the case that many people forgotten that the J-15 was not really designed to take off from these kind of carriers anyway ? Its like expecting a Dassault Rafale to takeoff from the QE via a full load. One would suppose that China could have exploited the Liaoning and Type 001A to the max if they got the Mig-29Ks instead but the growth potential for a smaller plane is of course, smaller.
Once the J-15 gets paired with a catapult, we can really see some sparks fly. As it will be a carrier borne fighter that will outrange all current 4th gen carrier fighters and with a heavier payload that most of them,as well as having one of the best designed air frames.
