Sea trials due start in February

It could cross Taiwan straights maybe not on the 1st trial

This is very exciting because it could cross paths with CV-16 and we could get a photo together

Can someone pull up the CV-16 trials ?

I don't know about the Taiwan Strait?? LOL, but I'd be very surprised if we don't see CV-16 and CV-17 rendezvous, but it may not be on the first cruise?

Hi Jeff, exciting news for the Plan,, so we will have two STOBAR carriers operating side by side shortly?? any idea on what an ops plan for these two would consist of, will one be stationed near the SCS and the other in the ECS, or will they mix it up??

How many J-15s would we suspect are currently carrier qualed aboard CV-16, and would they all be operationally coded, or would some be for test and eval, or training?

exciting days ahead for the PLAN

Well I would say between the two carriers we have 48 x J15

Now that doesn’t sound like much but that’s a serious amount of firepower

Off course CV-16 is used for training pilots and then they can go on to CV-17 or18 etc but at the end of the day it’s a warship equipped for war

So I think we will see a mix

Either way two carriers deployed would be awesome !

Some organisation that will take I tell you

Add to that the formation sailing of the escorts!

The heavy boys Type 055 and Type 901

My feeling is really for the 2nd Shandong based close Sanya with ESF in SCS during long time was the feeling for Liaoning but finaly... Sanya is the door towards Malacca Strait, Andaman Sea and Indian Ocean eventualy up to Middle East, Suez etc... area less know/important than Western Pacific more far of China but very important also.

For J-15 i think they have 30 series ( certain about 25 + some others no pics or new ) birds or almost the need is for sure 24 Liaoning + 32 - 36 Shandong + normaly a OCU with 10 - 20 + others for tests in a OCU can be combined with OEU eventialy pre series can be used for this job first get retitred or static tests saying necessary normaly 70 - 80 J-15s for 2 CVs/CAWs

I think right now the existing unit on Scramble named " Carrier Air Wing " ( have also helos, JL- 9 ) is in fact a OCU deployed on CV capable for combat but not a true frontline unit Rgt a true have a number i don't have... normaly stand up later.
