The Mid Autumn Festival Holidays are from 15 to 17 September.
Yup, my hometown is full of red lanterns. Temples filled to the brim with people. Can't wait for the parade tomorrow night with colourfully decorated floats and of course, mid-autumn festival can never complete without goddess of the moon (Chang'er) and mooncakes. Mooncakes are blooding expensive these days though. Incidentally, we have a 3 day holiday too here in Malaysia this year.

I'm just going to wait for the inevitable everyone-i-meet-gifts-me-a-box-of-mooncakes, as happens every year here in Hong Kong. Ironic how oftentimes, my major problem with Mid-Autumn is that I end up with more mooncakes than I can finish. :p

I doubt it. That means removing the bow and sonar system and other structural modules before placing in a CATOBAR system. I'm not saying it's impossible, but quite expensive.

Let us wait.

If the first CATOBAR-carrier comes without a ski-jump, than I am quite sure they will fit every jet-operating flattop with cats.

If the first CATOBAR-carrier has both, ski-jump and waist cats, than I am not sure.

I believe that CV-16 and CV-17 will be, and will remain STOBAR carriers for their life times. They will have enough J-15s to work off of those carriers because I believe both the existing and the upgraded J-15s with the new nose gear can work off of the STOBAR carriers.

Then, with the third carrier, I believe we will see the PLAN get a CATOBAR carrier and those J-15s with the strengthened nose gear will work off of that carrier...and I believe after that every Chinese carrier will be CATOBAR.

Maybe the first two with conventional power, and then a nuclear powered one...after which all them going forward will be nuclear powered.

Then, one day, 35 years from now, the Liaoning will be retired and replaced by a nuclear CATOBAR carrier of the latest design.

Anyhow, that's how I believe it will play out.
