famous but true old aviator saying, in other words always use all the runway, always maintain a "safety factor" and have plenty of altitude, and keep your speed up, when you get low and slow, and attempt to maneuver, the "stall, Spin"... more aircraft have likely been lost on the turn to final than any other scenario in aviation, with the possible exception of departure accidents..
Hence the wise Chines pilots are always gonna use the longest launch position, unless operational considerations dictate otherwise!

let assume each batch is the graduation of 6 carrier qualified pilot(CQP) Then according to Henri K there should be at least 50 to 60 CQP pilots give or take a few. Not enough for 2 squadron considering you need spare pilots

This one is passing through Sibutu Straits, which is unprecedented for the Liaoning. This is the Straits between the Philippines and Borneo so this is south in the Philippines. This event took place around this early August, stirred up issues with the Philippines.
