Am I the only one who thinks carriers with ski jump is antiquated? A carrier without an AWAC, might as well just stay near the coastline with land-air support because it's Useless.

Why ? because some of the type 52 ship radar 346B has 500 km or more range
Liaoning can act as fleet screen against incoming fighter Or organic fleet protector

Are we sure that's a new photo? I see both carriers where one of them is in dry dock. Edit: definitely older photo as Liaoning isn't there when looking at recent photos of Carrier 2 (Type 001A).
