Don't know how much credibility in the textView attachment 131468

It's made by a well-known PLA-fanboy + CGI artist.

The exterior details look about right, but I won't take the designation, means of operation, base stats and missile loadout in the infographic seriously unless there are publicly-available official information which supports them.

One question I have wondered about is how the VLS placement may hinder the access to the front door, especially if they are the larger VLS. This is not so much about the CG, but the ship itself. Do they just go around the side (presumably the space will be quite tight)?

A very rare peek into a Type 056's stern compartment that houses the towed sonar.

I wonder why they didn't sink the VLS enough to hide the doors and hinges like the Europeans do, since this is an all out LO design. Is that a new CIWS behind the radar mast?

Yup. The VLS hinges remind me of when the 1st 055 came out with the 1130 mount not enclosed and full of Luneburg angles

The hanger superstructure could also be less boxy and be a bit more like a Vasby.

My assumption is that the ship is good enough to test stealth from certain angles, new ASW gears, new weapon suites (especially with that VLS), etc., but is not a full representation of the final class design.

Right,

even standard things like navigational radars are not obviously on the ship. It seems that if this becomes a serial production class, there would be a slight stretch of the hull for some additional sensors and communications equipment.

There is definitely enough room below the landing pad to house full TAS and VDS suites, although haven't seen any evidence that any is actually installed. We will need to see where the exhausts are before determining that.

If exhaust is in the superstructure, then the amount of space dedicated to hostly a helicopter, and potentially sonars on this design is quite large, so ASW must be one of the roles, if not the dedicated role of this class, if it is a prototype.
