The study also found that the vaccine appeared to be 85.6% effective against the U.K. variant, also known as B.1.1.7. A separate phase two study in South Africa showed that the vaccine isn’t nearly as effective against a new strain ravaging that country.

The shot was still considered effective in protecting against the virus, but at an efficacy rate of just 49.4% among 44 Covid-19 cases in South Africa where 90% of the cases contained the troubling new variant, the company said.

Unfortunately, yes... With that being said, it is also important to see how much the new vaccine can lighten the symptoms of those who still get infected, in addition to complete protection. If the vaccine can improve the symptoms, it is equally good.

I think I should ask, do you live in a warm climate?

Where I am, the window is frozen shut today with the ice, it is -10°C outside.

Peak flu season is mid January according to the health authorities, which from experience, sure appears to be true.

I haven't seen any report regarding how effective or safety of Chinese vaccines being used oversea. If you guys have such reports, please share!

It is funny that Sinovac got crucified by reporting that its vaccine is 78 percent effective at preventing moderate and severe illness but J&J is getting away with this and accepting as effective.

Maybe Sinovac should’ve only released data on severe and moderate cases as well.

But then the MSM would cry foul on that

fukem, in the end it’s really the scientists that help governments decide
