Certainly you wouldn't have to rerun the entire test battery. You can verify that the virus is inactivated by introducing it to to cultured cells and observing if it's infectious. No one does years of tests on seasonal flu vaccines, the vaccine "inherits" the safety and reliability of previous iterations.

We most likely will have to wait until the end of 2021 or early 2022 to see the result of these vaccines.

Chinese government gave green light to Walvax Biotechnology to test its mRNA Covid-19 vaccine on humans in mid 2020. Not sure how it is going now. Their data may come out soon, hopefully.

This piece came out a month ago. It may suggest that it's going smoothly... As of last December, 5 individual subjects had entered a phase 3 trial. It seems that they are confident enough to start a factory for mass production.

This is a Cell paper that they published in September, 2020. It shows successful animal testing (mice and nonhuman primates) of the Chinese mRNA vaccine. Amazingly, this vaccine, called ARCoV, can be stored at room temperature! I will need to dig a little deeper to find out how they did it... It's amazing that they've managed to stabilize mRNA at room temperature...

Thanks for the info. My internet is a bit slow to do a lot of internet searching. I hope the Chinese one is successful and firms like Pfizer will have to raise their efforts.
