Indians are facing a different problem now. Nobody wants to get vaccinated not even their healthcare workers. Due to lack of data transparency nobody trusts these indigenous vaccines. Now the Govt is begging, threatening everybody to take it.

, they should buy Chinese vaccine, hopefully China would sell it to themHow do they decide the dosing period in the first place then.. It's also very weird that they just know this finding after phase 3 trials. As far as I know only sinovac is doing the 2 weeks interval dosage as well, the rest are doing it 3-4 weeks apart.

One way of building confidence is to let third-party countries do the vaccine trial themselves which is the route the Chinese vaccines have been going through.
Then again would India has the confidence to do that when even Western vaccine manufacturers are not brave enough to let third party countries do the vaccine trial independently?
In the end, even after going through this route of best practices, the Chinese vaccines are having a tough time fighting against the unending assault from the Western propaganda machine.

China's rise and growing wealth and power threatens that privilege, hence why they will lie and go to the extent of sacrificing 400k of their peoples' lives just to prevent that from happening. In vain.
A few days back, Reuters had a bitch piece complaining that China's lunar mission didn't get the entire 2kg of moon rocks they were hoping to get. THat's the sort of butthurt and jealousy that they exhibit and will continue to exhibit as we enter a world where the white anglo must wait in line like the rest of the peoples of the world.

So, 33% protection for the first dose. What would be the efficacy rate like after the second dose, 50%? 66%?
It'll be interesting to know what kind of efficacy rate they'll report after that second dose because this is coming from the user themselves, not the vaccine manufacturer.
Yes the degree of butt hurt must be unbearable. I had people saying to me why dies China bothered to spend all this money in getting rock samples back from the moon, when US has already done that!

The latest Israeli study shows that, out of 102 medical personnel vaccinated, 100 show high levels of antibodies against the virus after two shots of Pfizer vaccine, even higher than those recovered from an actual severe infection. This suggests two things: (1) the vaccine is effectively generating antibodies and is effectively protecting the individual with the vaccine; (2) those with the vaccine likely won't transmit the virus to others (so the vaccine prevents further transmission). This is a good development, although it is a small study of only 102 people. They are in the process of evaluating a total of > 7000 hospital employees once all of them get their second shots. Looking forward to the peer-reviewed study hopefully coming out soon.

Another much larger Israeli study of 200,000 vaccinated shows that the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine is not very effective, with an efficacy of only ~30%. This shows the need to get that crucial second shot. Also, the gap of 21 days (or 28 days for Moderna) must be strictly followed. So what the UK is doing is plainly stupid. Go back to the established protocol!
