Coronavirus 2019-2020 thread (no unsubstantiated rumours!)

China happen to be the 1st country to publicly report Covid-19. There's no proof it originated in China. The earliest form of Covid-19, Type A, appeared in U.S. and Australia. China had later forms, Type B and C. Several countries were infected at an earlier dates than China. China has only 1 bio-labs that work with dangerous infectious diseases. The U.S. has 25 world-wide bio-labs that work with dangerous infectious diseases. Those labs are administered by the U.S. military. The U.S. was the only country refused to participate in the WHO worldwide investigation of the source of the Covid-19 outbreak. This pandemic should be treated as a natural disaster, not as an act of war.

I would take good old fashioned military discipline over any of those fancy stuff.
Man fights to the last man, last breath by that discipline.
Well true... discipline is important but that should be the absolute baseline for any military... those fancy stuff adds to the fighting capacity of the military much like fancy tanks, planes and ships today...

Malaysia's Health director-general telling it as it is, on Pfizer/BioNTech's vaccine-to-be.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 6): The Ministry of Health's (MOH) National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) has so far not received any documents from Pfizer for evaluation registration and testing of the Covid-19 vaccine, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said the ministry has no direct information on whether there have been some problems in the supply of the vaccine as reported by a foreign media agency.

"The Health Ministry, however, will monitor developments on Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine and obtain more information on the matter.

"The ministry will notify the public on developments from time to time," he said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham was commenting on a Reuters report on Dec 4 which, among others, said that the pharmaceutical company might not be able to meet its production target for the vaccine for 2020 due to a lack of raw materials.

He said it is the NPRA's responsibility to ensure all products go through the evaluation and testing process based on the principles of quality, safety, and effectiveness before being registered for the Malaysian market.

Apart from that, he said NPRA also ensures that the quality, safety, and effectiveness of vaccines and registered medicines are always guaranteed through the quality product monitoring programme and pharmacovigilance.

My interpretation on what Vesicles has said in his many posts on the subject is something along the lines that there can be many mutations of the virus with all the oldest branches of the virus family tree appearing to track back to China

Variant A of the virus, which appeared in a few countries during the early outbreak, also appeared in China but only as a small outbreak. The major outbreak in Wuhan is caused by the Variant B virus. If China is the source of Variant A then one should expect the major outbreak in China should start with Variant A and NOT Variant B.

I think they should do a reanalysis of the genome samples with the addition of those samples newly discovered in Italy, Spain, and possibly other countries.
