Source of the infection has been identified - at the chest hospital where the two dock workers previously identified as positive were hospitalised they shared a CT room with other non-COVID-19 patients, leading to nosocomial infection. No community spread detected via full population PCR test. The head of the hospital have been removed from his post earlier this week.

This is really an amazing speed. This add to confidence in opening freely in mainland China.
This stand in contrast with the two-weeks optional testing here in Hong Kong.
It only tested less than 2M (out of 7M) population.

Now people are dragging their feet because of the economic losses,
and some are hoping the border with mainland will be opened for mainland tourists.
But the Shenzhen authorities will not open the border freely until its proven to have zero case in HK.

If the USA cannot pull itself together, reflect on their mistakes and actually take this thing seriously, then not only do they deserve to collapse but there entire nation deserves to loses there so called super power dominance forever. I mean the nation is a genuine threat to the world and no one wants to admit it because they would mean that everything the USA has been parroting is a big fat lie, just like there stock market which seems to thrive off bad news alone

In the USA, the number of infections has been rising again for three weeks. Just under three weeks until the election, by then the number of new infections will have increased significantly, as recently in Europe, and the hospitals will fill up again.

I recall China trialled remdesivir for ages, eventually gave up because they ran out of patients to trial. Another downside of doing so well at pandemic prevention.

But still, the Chinese remdesivir trial ran for ages and I thought at the time surely if it was the miracle cure they would have seen some results by the time the trial was terminated. The fact that no result like that was published in the Chinese trial was a pretty sure bet that it would have marginal effect at best.
