Even if vaccine is found, if ever, will that be even more effective than getting hit by C19 in the first place?

I guess not.

Hmmm, it would be good if the vaccine is effective for all the strains of the virus (given that I read up that the Chinese vaccine is effective in providing additional antibodies for all current strains). Though my father mentioned to me just yesterday that this person went to Europe for a holiday and then went back to HK. It is pretty stupid of him to go to Europe when the infection rate is still within the thousand per day. As a result, it is difficult to feel sympathy for him though hopefully he recovers regardless

Another of Trump's "miracle" cure may not be so miraculous.

LOL. The FDA is making gymnastic-style survival rate conclusions based on preliminary findings from a clinic at the Mayo Clinic. Apparently, the author of the paper is not even aware where the 35% survival rate figure is coming from.

"The FDA said people under the age of 80 who were not on a respirator and received plasma containing high levels of antibodies had a 35% better survival rate a month after the treatment than those who had received plasma with a low level of antibodies. But the agency did not include a comparison group of untreated patients, meaning no conclusions can be drawn about absolute survival rates."

Several experts, including Dr Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House's coronavirus task force, have expressed reservations about the robustness of studies so far. And speaking to the New York Times on Monday, one of the Mayo Clinic study's main authors, Dr Arturo Casadevall, said he did not know where the 35% figure had come from.
