a peculiar exchange really, quote,
"You've said many times that the U.S. is doing far better than any other country when it comes to testing. ... Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if everyday Americans are still losing their lives and we're still seeing more cases every day?" Jiang asked.
"Well, they're losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that's a question you should ask China," Trump told Jiang. "Don't ask me, ask China, okay? When you ask them, you may get a very unusual answer."
end of quote

I've repeatedly noticed an interesting propaganda element that is to quote "netizens"
... or 五毛Lol although at least one can read what those "netizens" actually wrote, even if they are cherry picked. ...
... or 五毛
(personally I assume all "netizens" are wumao)
I posted an article maybe a month or two ago about how Sweden was crying their human rights are being violated because some Chinese officials responded to negative Swedish comments about China using a boxing analogy that Sweden wasn't in the same weight class. When they insult China, China is not suppose to say anything back. China is suppose to take the abuse. They said because China was dishing it back, it might intimidate Swedish people from making those kinds of remarks in the first place for fear of a returning biting remark right back at them that might hurt their feelings. So that's violating their free speech.
So is China suppose to hold back and take abuse? It's just like countries complaining about how China is mixing politics with economics against them? Look at Australia where they think they can insult the Chinese but still think China has to keep being their number one customer. Like they don't use China not being a democracy and respecting human rights in holding back economic concessions China wants...? And they've been accusing for years Xi Jinping of stoking nationalism to gain domestic support... What kind of nationalism are they talking about when they're upset right now at this new tough-talking from China? Maybe to them having pride for yourself is dangerous nationalism. Chinese are suppose to be ashamed of being Chinese? They can beat their chests but it's a crime if Chinese do it... Chinese are suppose bow their heads and cower while they dance around you thumping their cheats. That's the only thing that's not further than horrifying tough talk in response to their disrespect that they're writing articles about now. Their bar for accusing nationalism is low and especially when they do worse which is called them being a snowflake.
I have no problem with the tone of the Chinese diplomat. If anything, it is very reserved and restraint. You are getting played by the bombastic and sensationalist headlines from the anglo MSM headlines if that is what you think.
