I distinctively remember back in around December 15th of last year, plus or minus 10 days or so, on CNNs main page, while scrolling down towards the middle to bottom section, there was an article about a mysterious new virus in China, and I clicked on it and read it at the time but never thought much of it, didn't figure anything would ever come out of it... and basically completely forgot about it. And then it wasn't until two weeks ago that I along with everyone else in the world sudden heard about this new virus everywhere... but curiously Internet Archive isn't pulling old CNN pages, even though says it saves them all the time, and archive.is only has some days worth of snapshots but not all of them. I should have taken a screenshot because I'm almost sure it was talking about the same thing, so back in December this was already on the CNN front page in some form or another....

I took a look because I had similar feeling about the SCMP I mean I thought I had seen a Wuhan story earlier than on New Year's Eve

No, I may not be able to pin down the exact date, but I distinctively remember it was on CNN and it was BEFORE the new year, sometime in December of 2019. I thought to myself at the time, "oh great, a new virus to have to worry about in the last month of the decade before entering into the new year /new decade etc etc etc" then for weeks after that I completely forgotten about it, and then of couse two weeks or so ago the whole world was introduced to this new virus....

For some reason Internet archive none of the archived pages of cnn seem to be showing up at all
I typically use greenshot, or if I'm surfing through a VM (virtualbox or vmware workstation) I map the print screen key to take a screenshot of the console... I thought little to nothing about it at the time, but I could have sworn it was on CNN's main page, and I really want to say it was before Christmas.
