LOL I repeatedly linked Swedish numbers in this thread, of course always ignored, as they show a country can live without ruining itself by the virus AND by restrictions

I do not know how Sweden's policy is different from her Scandinavian neighbors sharing about the same degree latitude. But I looked at the Worldometer data for comparison.

Country / Total Confirmed Cases / Total Death / Cases/1M Pop / Deaths/1M Pop

Sweden / 22,317 / 2,679 / 2,210 / 265
Denmark / 9,523 / 484 / 1,644 / 84
Norway / 7,809 / 211 / 1,440 / 39
Finland / 5,254 / 230 / 948 / 42

China should not worry too much about its reputation at this point, with or without this pandemic, which is, after all, a nature disaster. China's reputation was less than ideal even before this pandemic, because of its lack of soft power (relatively speaking) and the relentless propaganda war waged against it by the Western MSM. What China needs to do, with or without this pandemic, is to improve its PR skills and refine the techniques of its psychops in the international mess media.

I guess Trump also had the "evidence" of the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine not that long ago.

Situation for the U.S. on May 1:

Hi, thanks for posting data regularly. Just wondering do you know if the Chinese gov keep track of daily tests done? If so, any data like that Nationally or by provinces?

about one-in-thousand mortality rate, while elsewhere it's pretty normal to see three-in-one-hundred

I believe another forum member already explained Singapore's low fatality rate earlier - the majority of the cases are from foreign workers engaging in the construction business. They are usually in their 20s and 30s, and in good physical condition. Hence the low fatality rate.

"White House trade adviser Peter Navarro told CNN that the administration thinks it moved as quickly as other countries in addressing the coronavirus pandemic."

it'd be funny if it weren't tragic

Now the Trump Administration spin is that China hoarded medical supplies after complaining with alarm how China was helping the world. There were figures used as an example China accounts for the majority of masks supply in the world yet they only shipped 48-49% to the world during the crisis. Aren't those Chinese masks? The same masks they claim were faulty and now demand? What says China is obligated to send its masks to the world when demanded? And remember how allies were hoarding and not helping their fellow allies... If they're not making masks at home, that's their fault. Of course that's spin just like with the Haiti earthquake where Western countries were sending rescue teams but then were accused by locals of looking and helping only their citizens and then all of the sudden the Western media was reporting that Chinese rescue teams were only searching for their citizens. See how easy it is for them to change the narrative without a beat?

During my time with the military I have encountered some badass soldiers, snipers and recon and all that, they are all very rational and respectful and humble. the worst troops I work with tend to look like these armed snowflakes in Michigan, it's almost like they are trying to compensate for something, not intimidating at all.
