If it didn't get accidentally released from the Wuhan lab then only people to be blamed from this are those who allow extremely unhygienic wet markets.
I am not blaming anyone yet.
The epidemiology has yet to be nailed down. The early reports were of a Wet market and still could be. Or it could have been an accidental release of something from the BSL4 facility or just as some spelunkers got to close to a bat colony and caught something.
Or it could be some other source entirely. They think is was from bats though some still say Snakes.
It’s just annoying that some want to use it for nationalist axe grinding. Pointing to the US and saying “Isn’t it convenient”... or predicting “mysterious mutations”...
or even the Indian article that talked of cow urine... It’s more Quackery than the recommendations of Traditional Chinese remedies. But at not much more
. Some Homeopathic remedies are as harmless as the treatment Of Chicken noodle soup and OJ yet some do far more harm. Both India and China have pushed their own respective brands of herbial regiments along side modern medicine to try and combat this. How much harm or good they are is at best iffy.
People get desperate and the weirdos and con artists come out.
So it should be no surprise someone starts selling snake oil as cure all’s.
I remember during the SARS outbreak Pravda ran a story claiming that that came from outer space, and there is never a want of the handicapped in the line for spiritual healing when self proclaimed Holy men come to town no matter the country.
This whole thing is getting people desperate and scared. That’s why you have boarders being closed even demands for internal ones. The quarantine of Wuhan is a pretty extreme act it will only inflame other issues... I should say already have.
