Other than that, I don't think there needs to be a stop to the entire live market business. Even if that were to be stopped, what about the pet market? The take-away is not the be scared of animals; it's to better manage the exposure to them. Regular items for the live market like chicken, fish, frogs, eel, shellfish, etc... should continue as it is a part of the excellence of Chinese culture and cuisine. But craziness spending huge amounts of money to eat odd, endangered animals like hellbenders, wolves, pangolins, peacocks, monkeys, anteaters, etc... should be strictly prohibited. There are no benefits to allowing this to continue, none to the consumers, none to the economy (as most of this money goes out of China), and certainly none to the wildlife. (Most of the times, they are consumed due to some superstition that eating such an animal will enhance libido.) Animals that are recurrent vectors for disease like bats and rodents should be banned from consumption as well.
Why is this a question for me? How should I know? Besides, biological sciences are not his expertise.what happened to tidalwave
