If you read the article you will notice that they have provided lots of details. Anyway if this is wrong then Chinese government should openly accuse CNN. Just saying that it's false will not do any good. Moreover, the article mentioned that though the Chinese spokesperson clearly had mentioned that 90% of imported cases are of people with Chinese passports the local authorities seemed to target the African people. It may very well be a mess-up by the local government just as it was by the Wuhan government. Anyway, racism should never be tolerated no matter how you put it, and it's the task of the Central government to ensure that such actions are not repeated and offenders are punished.
They provide details, omit other details; you know Western MSM. USA's the last country to accuse others of discrimination against black people. No matter now rough it got in Guangzhou, no cops pulled over any black drivers for rolling through a stop sign, tasered him, put his knee on the guy's neck, then shot him "mistaking" his pen for a gun.

That's what China does. More and more they step towards draconian but of course when they do it, it's not draconian.
It's double standard. I really don't want to drag into country bashing or hurting anyone's self-esteem but when China was deep in the pandemic western media said China was the real sick man of Asia. Now what? America has the most serious pandemic and highest death toll, Why they don't call America the worst sick man of the world?

I am afraid you didn't get my point.
1. If CNN is wrong in this case then China should expose CNN. Just keeping mum will not help. Do you remember how cgtn published series to debunk some of the false reporting regarding Xinjiang?
2. There is no point setting the US as the benchmark.
3. Finally, I think that prevalent misconceptions among the common people should be corrected. In my country there wee some ignorant people who behaved rudely to/discriminated against doctors because they thought doctors spread the disease. Steps were taken against such loons. China should also take steps against people if they have wrongfully evicted tenants just because they were Africans.

This news, if proven true, will give China haters a very powerful tool to doubt all the good work done by China against Covid-19.

I think you forgot to mention the last paragraph which said. "It has always been the case," she told CNN. "They have to be approved by three levels of organizations. It's a long process. So CNN just insinuating that it can be used to block any result unfavorable to the regime which is presumptuous.
It is no differrent than any scientific paper in the west that must go thru vetting of the academic editor

"It has always been the case," she told CNN. "They have to be approved by three levels of organizations. It's a long process."
The Chinese researcher who requested anonymity said under the new restrictions, however, coronavirus research that contradicted the official narrative could be suppressed by Beijing.
"I think the importance is that the international scientific community must realize that any journal or manuscripts from (a) Chinese research institution has kind of been double-checked by the government," said the researcher. "It is important for them to know there are extra steps between independent scientific research and final publication."

Don't air conditioning systems have HEPA filters or UV lamp sanitising systems to disinfect the airflow?

I'm agree that that you do need temperature control, but there are far too many places which set the temperature too low.
I am in the air-conditioning business, let me answer some of your questions,
. HEPA filters on air handling units are only found on special applications i.e hospital operating theatres, production purpose i.e electronics, the reason you won’t find them on comfort cooling application is everything from equipment designed to use and power consumption is very expensive.
. The universal optimum temperature of air-condition space is 24 deg.C but of course the lower the temp.Is set the higher the power consumption as you have pointed out.
. Central air -conditioning duct work is a main source of spreading all kinds of nasty due to either because the building is old or because the duct work is filthy due to failure of proper maintenance done, that is air filter changed regularly or washed. Note:- HEPA filter is not only expensive but are of throw away use, cannot be serviced.
.Been in the industry for 36 years, had never come across UV light to kill bacteria on central air-conditioning applications.
Hope this clears up some of your concerns, cheers and stay safe.
