... so Italy now has the rate of China in the period around Feb 5 if I'm not confused now or didn't make a mistake Feb 9, 2020 while posting

day#15 14562 confirmed cases
day#16 17383 confirmed cases
day#17 20624 confirmed cases

(day#16 corresponded to Feb 5)

the point is currently there's no end in sight

EDIT anyone feel free to correct the China dates (could be I 'misaligned' back then) and numbers

Yes.
Italy is now at 2500 new cases per day.

Spain, Germany and France aren't far behind in terms of new cases.

Spain: 1200
Germany: 800
France: 600
