Looks to be a domestically unpopular move however, seems like people are just gripped with fear despite having very high vaccination rates.

The Federal government might just bend the knee after state premiers begin complaining.
Gripped in fear? Where? Who the same Australians who were doing this?

Now, don't tell me the same sort of people are all of a sudden have a sudden change of mind now that the cases in China have matched what they have been praying and hoping it was going to be.

I can't take these sort of people and government seriously.

Less gripped by fear as more of xenophobia, just like how the west freely criticises Chinese handling of covid while their population is still getting sick and dying from covid.

Royal Melbourne children's Hospital had wait time of 12+ hours just a few weeks ago. Medical systems around the world are stretched to the brim, especially in the west where overwork and general abuse from anti vaxxers is doing a number on the staff members.

I’m not going to get into this useless debate with you again but solely relying on eating clean and rest id a very naive view of medicine and health. Tons of people who eat healthy and rest can get really bad COVID infections. You can’t substitute a ‘good’ life style for medicine, intensive care, hospital beds! When a new variant occurs, at that time locking down was needed to increase hospital resources and watch for any long term adverse effects from omicron. You did mention you were anto lockdowns but when China opened you also said if things goes south, you personally blamed the leadership.

sure, but it doesn’t change my opinion that out of self respect, they shouldn’t travel to those countries which play politics and disregard science just to discriminate against the Chinese.
Nutrition, exercise, and adequate rest are not substitute for doctors, sure. But they have a pretty profound impact on reducing the risk of chronic diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and some cancers and associated disabilities. All of which can impact the severity of Covid. There shouldn’t be any debate on this.

Just heard that both of my grandparents (87 and 93) have tested positive for Covid. They are in a retirement home in Suzhou, and the retirement home has been under a closed loop system since China opened up. But despite all the safety measures they now have the virus spreading inside. So far my grandparents are doing well with no fever, and only hurting throats. They are both triple vaccinated with SinoVac (I think). So anecdotally I would say Chinese vaccine works well.

A China-developed oral anti-COVID medication has about the same efficacy as Paxlovid, but has less adverse effects than Paxlovid, a recent trial demonstrated. The medications was approved for emergency use in Uzbekistan in December 2021.

Paxlovid is available to those 65 yo and above in some communities in Beijing. It's expensive, although it's fully or partially covered by insurance. China's own oral medicine Azvudine costs about 16%.

China now produces more than 200 million anti-inflammatory and anti-fever pills a day.

There is no evidence that the Delta variant or any hybrid variant other than the Omicron variant is circulating in China currently.

The exact number of COVID deaths will be sorted out by counting excess deaths.
Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, also said that the term "excess mortality," which has been used in epidemiology and public health, can assess possible underestimation. After the breakout of the COVID-19 in 2020, the team from the center accomplished analysis on possible excess morality and released the result to the public.

Sir, from my experience even at the height of Delta which is more deadlier than Omicron, I was safe with 2 doses, same vaccine I never got infected nor my whole family. Omicron is a difference beast, like your grandparents my family with the exception of my wife all got it BUT within 3 days was okay. Gargling salt water is one way to cure the disease or use Bactidol Hexetidine.

Same group of countries being discriminatory and racist.

Not really surprise anymore after all their underhanded malignant actions.
Not sure if i should be upset or i should pity them for their bitterness and failure,

Nobody freakin wears masks anymore in places like Italy and the US. People dine indoors, go to clubs, and attend indoor concerts. There is no way for them to frame mandatory tests for Chinese travelers, other than being geopolitics and racism.
