most die are those who are not vaccinated. if you get the booster in oct etc, the chance of dying is low. The #1 cause of death is heart disease, even traffic death is in the top. if you live in US or rest of the world, life went on as normal now. If there is zero covid policy in US now, there probably will be a civil war. The country still have zero covid policy is China and North Korea. Its an endemic now.
along with testing, build more ICU, boost vaccination rate, masking in public etc to reduce the chance of dying due to covid. Long term zero covid not only bad for economy, but social life as well. The longer its in place, the more protest will happen, its not sustainable.

That's untrue. Even Japan with highly vaccinated elderly population with Western vaccine got slammed hard in their recent outbreak.

In aus, also highly vaccinated population, after opening up the leading cause of death became covid, pushing heart disease to 2nd place.

A single jogger without a mask was able to infect 250+ people (without mask too). Interesting China tracking capabilities because they were able to identify those people out thousands people visiting the park.

This is interesting. In Australia we were told open air exercise and activities are fine and dandy. Risk of infecting others is very low due to open air circulation, no masks needed too.

here is the data from CDC, this is for age 50+, which already have higher rate of death compare to 20-40s. do you have source from official site. like CDC or Japans own CDC site rather than Twitter

Dude, the death from the current wave is relatively low because the most vulnerable are already dead!

I have been in personal zero COVID since March 2020. I haven't gone anywhere except work (while fully masked, social distanced, no talking, no eating), home and grocery store. I don't go to restaurant, bar, concert, out with friends, visit family, nothing.

Why? Because I'm not a little snowflake that whines like a 5 year old child about not being allowed to play outside for a short amount of time. I understand that my indiscretion can cause not only my personal suffering but the suffering of infinite others.
yes you are fine with that, that doesn't mean everyone is OK with it. each individual have their own tolerance or acceptance lvl. if ppl against wear mask and vaccination end up in hospital, there is not much help on that.

so your own source says that COVID is still the 3rd highest cause of death and more than 50% that of heart disease. This is unprecedented for an infectious disease since the discovery of penicillin and eradication of smallpox.

The actual overall death rate increase was 17%.

Note that an +17% higher death rate is higher than the increase in death rate (+15%) during a war in Somalia.

Using models comprising the incidence of armed conflict events, rate of nutritional therapy admissions, incidence of malaria and measles occurrence, we estimated that CDR ranged between 0.3 and 0.5 per 10,000 person-days during 2014-2018, but with an increase of about 15% during 2017-2018, translating to an excess death toll of 44,700 in the most likely counterfactual scenario, and as high as 163,800 in a pessimistic scenario.
