Footage has emerged showing what appear to be rare large-scale protests against strict Covid-19 measures in the Tibetan regional capital, Lhasa.
The city has been under lockdown for nearly three months as it battles a wave of infections.
A lot of people in this community are people who have just come to work and earn money. If they could get that in mainland China, they wouldn't have come here," he says in Mandarin. "People are locked at home everyday and life is so hard. Prices in Lhasa now are so high and landlords are chasing people for rent. The workers also aren't allowed to go back to their hometown. They have no other way out," said the resident, who only wanted to be identified by her surname, Han.
Ms Han said she had been in lockdown for almost 80 days, adding that people were allowed to roam inside the compound for several hours a day - but couldn't go beyond that.
"Today is the 77th day of the lockdown in Lhasa. I don't know how long it will continue to be like this. I [cant find] hope. Can you understand... how hard it is for migrant workers?" the post said. "We haven't had any income for three months - but expenses have not been reduced even by a penny. My friends in Lhasa - how long can you go on like this?" said another post.
China's zero-Covid policy has saved lives, but also exacted a punishing toll on the Chinese people and economy, with increasing public fatigue over lockdowns and travel restrictions.

Does anyone have a good summary or comparison regarding the covid vaccines currently available in China? Which are the best booster shots available? Are there vaccines designed for the newest variants and how does the inhaled vaccine compare with injection vaccines?

Lockdowns aren't zero cost either. We should watch Hong Kong carefully this winter. If Hong Kong can live with covid, so can the rest of China
No offence to people outside of mainland China, but if a cave man can live in the open, rain, snow, wind and eat raw meat, so will you, or? The mainland Chinese can and are willing to afford that extra cost for warmth, safety, that's all. There is no need for "advice" or "concern" from outsiders.

I can only say that the cost is really great, but everything will have a cost.
Due to the different financial and management capacities of various regions, the management of these marginal areas will naturally be rough.
Another possibility is that there are still undiscovered aggregation activities that cause the virus to spread continuously.

There are similar situations in my city, but I plan to talk about the specific situation after the control is over.

I saw a cgtn video clip of clinic giving those inhaled vaccine and the guy said its just like drinking milk tea, taste abit sweet lol. Hopefully this can persuade more older folks to get vaccinated.

Also any new type of virus coming out Ukraine scares me. Given that now we know US has so many bio labs there.

Dun know if anyone posted this before or if the image been doctored to make him look younger but this guy, Dr Wu Zunyou, the Chief Epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control & Prevention, aged tremendously over the couple years managing the covid pandemic in China.
