It is funny that you say this as we know Japan just experiences an covid outbreak that forced them to turn away many patients. These Japanese cancer patients or other types of patients were denied cares due to the fact that the hospitals were overwhelmed.

Somehow you care so much about isolated cases of Chinese patients that deny emergency cares but not for countries like Japan that got their hospitals overwhelmed and turned away tens and hundreds of thousands patients that seeking emergency cares including cancer patients.

Which tells that you don't care about Chinese patients but trying to preach against zero covid as bad. But the reality is without zero covid, much more patients with cancer or other diseases would deny cares such as what happened in Japan right now.
Has anyone here ever once advocated for Japanese or Western style management of Covid ?

Many people here do advocate for Western style and abandon any restrictions against fighting covid. In fact, I would argue that when you abandon some restrictions and weaken some policies, you would end up like Shanghai. And what happened in Shanghai has severely weakened the will of mainland Chinese to fight covid.

I do get that many people are having covid fatigue. And abandon covid restrictions is the easy way out. However, arguing that covid is just a cold or covid restrictions hinder cancer patients getting care is just a convenient lies to justify weakening and abandoning of zero covid policies.

Average 400 deaths per day. 221,000 deaths so far this in the US. That means covid would kill 5-6 times more than worst flu year even after so called new Normal. Maybe the US doesn't have a choice but we should be reminded that this is a price that needs to pay for abandoning covid restrictions.

The U.S. is currently averaging just under 400 daily COVID-19 related deaths. Although the daily number of fatalities is far lower than it was at the nation's peak, in January 2021, 3,400 Americans died of COVID-19 each day.

"The seven-day average daily deaths are still too high, about 375 per day — well above the around 200 deaths a day we saw earlier this spring and, in my mind, far too high for a vaccine-preventable disease," Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a White House press briefing with the COVID-19 response team last week.

Over the last seven days, the U.S. has reported 2,500 deaths, and since the beginning of 2022, more than 221,000 Americans have died because of COVID-19.

This is reprehensible. Thousands dead at nursing homes but who cares.
Where is the Western msm scrutiny on old helpless people who died from covid after opening up? Where is the investigation? Is because they are lives not worth living? They are not useful for the economy? So humans rights are not human lives? But just for Uyghurs?

The Western MSM is really shameless - better science to let millions die?
I always feel sick in the stomach when weaponized immigrants like Li Yuan at NYT or other western propaganda rags writes about China zero covid. It's bad enough she make it seem like Xi can rule the whole of China like a tyrant and this is all his idea. But to trivialise the effects and victims of covid is not on. Who is gonna be held responsible when China open up now and the ensuing infected and death numbers rise up? The Western msm? Dun make me laugh.

The Lancet just published a report on Covid 19 suggesting that US labs could be just as culpable for the virus leak hypothesis as Wuhan labs.

Under Section 2: a review of the global, regional, and national responses to COVID-19
As of the time of publication of this report, all three research-associated hypotheses are still plausible: infection in the field, infection with a natural virus in the laboratory, and infection with a manipulated virus in the laboratory. No independent, transparent, and science-based investigation has been carried out regarding the bioengineering of SARS-like viruses that was underway before the outbreak of COVID-19. The laboratory notebooks, databases, email records, and samples of institutions involved in such research have not been made available to independent researchers. Independent researchers have not yet investigated the US laboratories engaged in the laboratory manipulation of SARS-CoV-like viruses, nor have they investigated the details of the laboratory research that had been underway in Wuhan. Moreover, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) has resisted disclosing details of the research on SARS-CoV-related viruses that it had been supporting, providing extensively redacted information only as required by Freedom of Information Act lawsuits.

In brief, there are many potential proximal origins of SARS-CoV-2, but there is still a shortfall of independent, scientific, and collaborative work on the issue. The search for the origins of the virus requires unbiased, independent, transparent, and rigorous work by international teams in the fields of virology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and other related fields, and supported by all governments.

The Lancet just published an article. Here,

Here is a guy giving a bit on what they say is the origin of the virus.

Apparently, both U.S. and China were doing research into coronaviruses. Some of the research involving altering the virus. The Nation Institute of Health is not willing to provide information on what types of research is being done. Documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act were heavily redacted.

Cover Up. Gain of Function research. Fauci lied under oath. US wanted to distance itself from Coronavirus research and focus the narrative on China. China doesn’t have the media firepower to change that narrative.
