Apparently its as severe as previous variant, but because of vaccines the studies on Omicron before found it to be less severe. So the takeaway is vaccine helps.

Of note out of 144 new cases in Shanghai, 106 of those were conversions from asymptomatic carriers previously discovered. Actual straight up new cases was 38.

Including both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases, there are 2 community cases on Wednesday and zero case on Tuesday. Elimination of community cases is upmost important when Shanghai is finally fully reopened on June 8.

For the 10th for example, all cases were already in quarantine.

Of course, Western culture is different from Chinese culture. Western people will never understand zero covid policy unless they are born and raised in China. As a Chinese person born in China and raised in the West, I do not support zero covid policy but I am also not against it. It is the freedom of the Chinese government to do what it sees fit.

This is highly unusual considering North Korea's closed border. Maybe CIA used a bird to deliver covid into North Korea. A domesticated pigeon could carry a small bottle on its leg and when it lands the bottle breaks and unleashes covid into North Korea. It is possible. A bird flying into North Korea would be very difficult if not impossible to detect.

Or it could just be accidental infection from a packages tainted with Covid particles, there were cases in China where individuals got infected from tainted packaging and mail. They don't really have to resort to complicated spy stuff to spread an existing infectious diseases lol
