. life will go normal, the vast majority who got the mild COVID will be forced to go to work sick because the economy has to continue running, no? Is not the reason to let COVID run wild to save the economy? If so, forcing workers to work sick is the right thing to do. The economy will flourish, the stock market will go up, good economic numbers in the financial Chinese media. Except in the West, mainstream media will still say that Chinese government is the most evil for letting people died from COVID and that Half of the population of China is death from COVID. So you can't win against Western media, they will call China a hellscape no matter what.
I hope that's not just politics and that they'll actually improve their response. Dear God, please.

That is like letting loose the virus on the population or the other way round letting the population loose to the virus.
Why not then make the effort to let loose a modified version of the virus on the population, i.e. letting loose the inactivated version of the virus on the population, which is basically vaccination?
With a big enough percentage of the population vaccinated (and boosted), things could turn out to be very different in the type of restrictions that are required and how successful they will be, as opposed to what is currently the case.
Looks like what CPC fears is not the number of deaths, but the fact that people will realize (and be outraged) that it was all much ado about nothing. When they find that 99% of the people survive and the only people who die were already on their way out anyway and would have died from a regular cold.

You sound cold blooded. No one deserves to die no matter how sick he or she is. You could one day end up sick or injured badly. Do you wish to be left on your death bed unattended?
