Korea needs to follow Hong Kong's lead in implementing strict measures.
They should've been doing this from the start; treatment protocols in the mainland and taiwan use Traditional Chinese Medicine against COVID to great effect.
Needless to say, white worship kills. If i was more cold blooded, i'd say it's a problem that solves itself but these are fellow Chinese so i wish them speedy recovery.
The China health authority has started vaccine booster shot program. I think this is meant for the general public (12 yo and above). Many who work in the higher risk industries/sectors have already received their booster shots.
The authority recommends mixing vaccines of different technologies to enhance protection and reduce risk of side effects (from overdose).
To help the general public understand efficacy of vaccines, the health authority revealed statistical information of the past outbreaks. For the Delta variant, out of the 2000 some confirmed cases in ShaanXi province, about 2.2% were severe cases. Out of the 499 confirmed cases in Henan province, about 3.4% became severe.
"In average 7% of confirmed cases turned severe before (vaccination)." according to Shao Yiming, a vaccine research expert.
For the Omicron variant, there were only 4 severe cases in the 759 patients from Tianjin and Anyang so far. That is less than 0.6%.
The current first gen vaccines provide noticeable protection against this variant. The breakthrough rate is 22.6% for those who have had 2 shots (完成基础免疫) and 6% who have had the booster shot (加强免疫).
