I agree to some parts of your statement but disagree with others.Pay attention to what my post is saying. My point was not against vaccination, but saying "vaccination certificate is useless for border control".
China requires negative PCR test to get in regardless vaccination status. PCR test before departure and at entry point are more reliable to screen the person than a vaccination certificate which does not guarantee virus free.
Please read my post again, pay attention to the highlighted text, here I repeat again:
With a so low protection effectiveness, vaccination is actually counter productive in preventing the spread, it will create lot of asymptomatic or light symptomatic people to further spread the virus.
Compared to strict lock down, quarantine, PCR test, contact tracing etc. etc.???? Do I have to repeat everything that is well known already?
stopping spread is totally different thing from eradication. I don't get how could you make the equation.
There are lots of contiguous diseases today, they remain in small pockets in the world but not spread all over the world like Covid-19. These are examples of "stopping spread" without being "eradicated".
Here is a list for you,
A very recent example is which did not spread out of Africa, but Ebola is not eradicated.
It seems that you did not read carefully before you write. Or are you deliberately twisting my point?
First, I agree that vaccination certificate or vaccination passport is useless for border control. Today with the spread of omicron variant, even if you are vaccinated with up to four doses, it won't protect you from being infected. However, border control in some countries, my country for example, would require two things to let a person in; vaccination passport and negative PCR test.
Second, I don't agree with the part that you said vaccination would create a lot of asymptomatic or light symptomatic people to further spread the virus. Yes, it does but without vaccine, these people would spread even faster and a lot them will turn seriously ill and die. Did you read my story about 5 out of 10 of our staff got infected after CNY holidays? None got serious and some has come back to work.
