Well it did give Chinese time to stock up on masks and mask making machines before the global supply run.

No. They are processing all the suspected cases in Wubei. Suspected cases have decreased from around 2000 to 800 in two days.

Apparently this guy says there has been hundreds of cases in Seattle for 6 weeks now... If true, that would mean the strain in the US is far weaker and/or Caucasins have far less ACE2 receptors hence not as impacted compared to the strain in Italy, Wuhan or even what is happening in Iran which is seeing 50% CFR...
