@ansy1968 The first time after the Feb 20 Community event, Cambodia reports zero local community infection (1 death though) but 15 Omicron import cases. This is worrisome!

PS: The first batch of Pfizer is donated by Australia has arrived in Cambodia. This is the first time Cambodia receives Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine.

Is it Omicron? If its Omicron then its "normal" that there are such high cases.
The important point is the hospitalisation number

@Overbom bro we will be reaching 50% vaccinated rate by early next quarter, Metro Manila had the highest with 65% with 30 or 40% on their 3rd doses. So it is safe to say in the Metropolis which contribute nearly 30% of our entire GDP, we maybe seeing the end of this pandemic. I'm saying this as an observer with no malice intended, SINOVAC is effective against Omicron and from what I've heard from my doctor friend, most of the hospitalization are rich people and they mostly used Pfizer. Now I may be biased BUT I'm really amazed that street dwellers and those living in the slum areas are doing okay and most of them or all had received the Chinese vaccine. Maybe the way they lived is a factor as most Rich people prefer dining out or are resuming their pre covid activities, or the living condition with fear of infection most of them rely on AC instead of opening their veranda/balcony or window to let the fresh air in to cleanse the room.

Honestly, Omicron could be a blessing in disguise as it’s transmissibility is making it the dominant strain while generally having milder symptoms to previous variants. I suspect it might be the last big COVID strain as it outcompetes the more deadlier strains and we already have vaccines and now drugs to treat COVID hospitalization. These three things make pandemic seem close to an end as I believe COVID is now endemic and will become pretty much like the cold or flu.

The West is slowly getting ready with its "live with covid" strategy

If after 1-2 weeks, hospitalisations/deaths remain low, then I am almost certain that the West will fully reopen and stop bothering with Covid

Federal level: It's up to the States now to manage/control pandemic!
States: It's up to the Township, County, and City level!
Towns/Cities: It's up to each Street!
Each Street: It's up to your local "Karen" or your local Walmart greeter to enforce masks.

Basically, it's "Every person for themselves" at this point.

And these are the same people who want a "Whole of Society" approach to containing China? They can't even contain COVID, how can they contain China?
