It's pretty clear to me that Trump was putting on a stage persona during his tenure. It was just another reality show to him.
Yes he is Pro-Vaccine, go watch the video. He encourages everyone to get the vaccine. He even admitted he got the booster shot and he said is safe, it is efficacious, people die without vaccines.
Yes he supports choice but he also encourages his supporters to get vaxxed.

"Pro-Vaccine" vs. "Anti-Vaccine" does not insinuate a position on mandate vs. no mandate, rather whether it's safe or not safe.
You can be Pro-Vaccine and against a hard mandate. That's why Biden doesn't offer a hard mandate, but offers choice (get vaxxed or weekly testing). Biden isn't forcing you to get vaxxed, you have a choice to get vaxxed or weekly tests.

I took my father to the medical center for the 3rd shot today and he chose Sinovac over the recommended AZ. The reason is there were no side effects for him on the 1st and 2nd shots. So he hope the 3rd one will be friendly as well. Medical staff recommended AZ. Their reasons were AZ generate more antibodies and no side effects for old people. They have just new stock of AZ.

Israeli researchers have found that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, harms the human immune system, Ben-Gurion University (BGU) in southern Israel said on Monday.
In a genetic study published in the journal iScience, BGU researchers tried to find out what causes the "stormy" nature of COVID-19, which is also manifested in an extreme reaction of the immune system.
For this purpose, they analyzed for a year, using computational biology, gene expression in patients from around the world.
The team examined whether mitochondria, cell organs that produce energy, are damaged during COVID-19 illness, resulting in dysfunction of the body.
Surprisingly, the researchers identified damage to the mitochondria of immune system cells, rather than to lung cells' mitochondria.
The mitochondrial damage in immune cells explains the "cytokine storm" phenomenon, which is a reaction of the immune system, appearing with symptoms such as fever, swelling and extreme fatigue, the researchers said.
"Based on the results, it is possible to use existing treatments to target mitochondria and thus improve patients' condition," they concluded.

Its too early to say what the hospitalisation rates will be. There's typically a 2-3 week lag between infection rates increasing and people needing to go hospital. They said the same about each of the previous waves and as time went on the hospitalisation numbers went up after politicans had come out and said the cases were mild.
