Norway primarily use comirnaty (Pfizer/Biontech) mRNA. It stopped AC early on due to the blood-clout.
What we get:
120 people fully vaccinated by presumably mRNA. 13 people confirmed infected so far, that is 11%. Authority expects over 60 eventually will be confirmed to be infected, that is over 50%. What is that efficacy? This is real life, not statistic.

Fact is, that we wont have sufficient data about the death/hospitalisation rate until the end of December. Anyone else who says otherwise is fooling the world. That includes "Dr."Fauci, WHO, and that S.African doctor who detected the first case of the Omicron variant
And something else that these people don't say, even if mortality rate is the same or even less than the Delta variant, we are still in huge trouble because Omicron variant is approximately x3 more transmissible than the Delta variant (called Rt, not to be confused with R0)
And with such high infection rate, the healthcare systems around the world will start collapsing if they let Omicron run out of control
Personally I am not as optimistic as the media. We need to wait until the end of December until we can start having some scientific findings about Omicron

The Chinese gov't knows mRNA is not a miracle technology that can solve the pandemic. However, Chinese gov't is investing billions into mRNA technology, and they are denying Pfizer mRNA entry into the domestic market. At this point, it's ALL psychological and ALL political now. I feel China will wean itself off lockdowns once it everyone recieves an additional indigenous mRNA local booster.

At least in the US, you can prob just photoshop a digital card to your own name since no one actually scans the QR code to check the name (not sure if the us qr code even has name or if it just checks true/false though). There is prob no penalty for letting people in with fake vaccine cards, hence the bar doesn't take it seriously. Losing 1 customer can mean his whole group walking out and losing hundreds of dollars.
Having that attitude in this short time (omicron hasn't spread yet) before knowing anything about it tells me that the people have made up their mind long before. They were never serious about any variants.

In the U.S. , it's everyone for themselves. The Federal gov't abdicated responsibility to the State, who then abdicated responsibility to the Local and City-level officials who have no epidemiological training at all. At this point, it's up to you to protect your family and yourself, mask up yourself, vaccinate yourself. It's "Fuck Thy Neighbor" attitude in US now.... (younger) people don't care if your grandma or dad dies due to XYZ variant.

It's more like Chinese gov't is investing in both wine and whiskey production, suggesting both alcoholic beverages are important high quality products there is no need to accuse others of "Worshipping Wine" or "Worshipping Whiskey".... we want both.
